Mysterious island
During the American Civil War, Cyrus Harding, escapes from a Confederate prison with Privates Herbert Brown and Neb, after seizing a hot-air balloon. Blown far out into the Pacific Ocean they eventually land on a remote South Sea island, where they encounter various giant creatures, two shipwrecked English ladies, a band of pirate cut-throats and, finally, Captain Nemo, and his submarine Nautilus.
