Puzzlehead wins the Asteroid 2005
The American movie 'Puzzlehead' wins the Asteroid and the Russian 'First On The Moon' receives a special mention
The winner of the Asteroid award (for the best feature film in competition) is PUZZLEHEAD, by American director James Bai. The decision was taken by the Jury of scienceplusfiction 05, led by Jean-POierre Dionnet. The movie was chosen for its "creation of a perfect balance between fantastic and human, for the fact that the personal story could only be expressed through science fiction".
A special mention went to FIRST ON THE MOON, a movie by Russian director Aleksey Fedorchenko. The Jury decided to award the movie with this mention, for "innovating the tradition of documentaries on events that never happened in a way that is at the same time credible and unforeseeable".
The Jury underlined how in both cases "the intention was to award not only excellent movies, but also young directors who are very promising for the future".
