The Programme, featuring six masterpieces by Jean-Luc Godard, François Truffaut, Louis Malle, Alain Resnais, Georges Franju and Chris Marker, is made after one of the most successful sections of scienceplusfiction 06, Voyage Fantastique. The edition of Pifan, leading genre film festival in Asia, has taken place July 12th through July 21st , and has presented to an audience of more than 70.000 people 215 films from 33 different countries.

The presence of French Sci-Fi: La Vague Technèe marks a further acknowledgment of the International relevance of scienceplusfiction and the value of the research that is being developed by its team.

French Sci-Fi: La Vague Technèe

Nouvelle Vague was the most important film trend of the 20th century, a movement that not only influenced French cinema but also the entire European cinema as well.  French Sci-Fi: La Vague Technèe, a special showcase at PiFan2007, takes a thorough look at 5 films by the masters of Nouvelle Vague, including Jean-Luc Godard, François Truffaut and Alain Renais, directors who paid keen attention to Sci-Fi genre, by examining their unique viewpoint and vision in them.  It is also interesting to see these five films also showing these ’68 revolution era’ directors’ political and artistic beliefs from another perspective.  Audiences will once again experience masterpieces Alphaville by Jean-Luc Godard and Fahrenheit 451 by Francois Truffaut on screen, while Louis Malle's Black Moon and Alain Resnais' Je t’aime, je taime will be shown theatrically for the first time in Korea. The showcase will be completed by Les Yeux Sans Visage (Georges Franju) and La Jetée (Chris Marker).
