Shinji Aoyama
He was born in Kita-Kyushu, Japan, in 1964. He began making films in 8mm at Rikkyo University, where he was deeply influenced by the courses of film critic Hasumi Shigehiko. He has worked as an assistant director for Kurosawa Kiyoshi, Fridrik Thür Fridriksson and Daniel Schmidt. As a writer and critic, he contributes to several magazines.
