Katsuhiro Ôtomo

Biography:
Born in Miyagi in 1954, Otomo began his career as a comic artist. In 1983 he starts to direct Anime and in 1988 he makes the animation film Akira, fundamental contribution to the international affirmation of this specific film genre.
