The Second Civil War

United States, in a few years time. Farley, Governor of Idaho, calls the borders of his State closed to immigrants. The White House reacts and imposes a 72-hour ultimatum, immediately reduced to 67-and-a-half-hour not to overlap with the last episode of a soap-opera. While the armies deploy, NewsNet, a world TV network, amplifies the event. The US are running into the Civil War, who is going to save them?

Gorod Zero (Zero City)

One of the key films of the Perestroika era, Zero City tells the story of a Moscow engineer named Varakin who arrives in a small town with instructions to change the size of a locally manufactured air conditioner part. He arrives at the company office and is welcomed by a naked secretary. Next, he finds himself sitting down to lunch. The dessert arrives, a cake that strongly resembles his own head, baked by a chef who soon shoots himself in the head.

Gandahar

Life in the idyllic paradise of Gandahar seems peaceful and in joyous order, until the Mirror Birds report that inhabitants of whole villages have been turned to stone. A council of women chooses Sylvain Lanvère to uncover Gandahar’s mysterious metallic attackers. In doing so, he finds an underground race of deformed Gandaharians and an oversized motherbrain, both the result of botched genetic experiments.

Dr. Plonk

It is the great year of 1907. Dr Plonk, eminent scientist and inventor, calculates that the world will end in exactly 101 years unless immediate action is taken. As befalls visionaries through the ages, Plonk is ridiculed for his beliefs, by politicians, by bureaucrats, even by his faithful manservant Paulus. Being the lateral thinker that he is, Plonk invents a time machine and sets out to collect the necessary proof from the very future that's ending.

Le Cinquième Èlément (The Fifth Element)

Based in the future, Korben Dallas is a retired military officer who now drives a cab. He teams up with a perfect, supreme being named Leeloo to save the world from an evil presence that enters the galaxy every 5,000 years. To do so, they need to locate four ancient stones representing the four basic elements of earth, air, fire, and water. They must overcome many obstacles including Milla's ancient language and customs, as well as the evil Zorg and his mercenaries, to locate the stones and position them around the Fifth Element.

Gwoemul (The Host)

Gang-du works at a food-stand on the banks of the Han River. The idyllic landscape turns suddenly to bedlam, when a terrifying creature climbs up onto the riverbank and begins to crush and eat people. Gang-du and his daughter run for their lives, but suddenly the being grabs Hyun-seo and disappears back into the river. The government announces that the monstrous thing apparently is the Host of an unidentified virus.

A dying professor leaves his great-nephew a collection of documents pertaining to the Cthulhu Cult. The nephew begins to learn why the study of the cult so fascinated his grandfather. Bit-by-bit he begins piecing together the dread implications of his grandfather's inquiries, and soon he takes on investigating the Cthulhu cult as a crusade of his own. As he pieces together the dreadful and disturbing reality of the situation, his own sanity begins to crumble. Them!

A child is discovered wandering in the desert in a state of deep shock by two policemen. Nearby they find a wrecked trailer and a single track in the sand, then hear a chilling cry on the orizon. Back in town, Drake hears the cry again, steps out of a building, and is never seen again. FBI agent Arness invetigates and discovers that atomic tests in the desert have produced a giant species of ant.

Rec

A team of local TV reporters is following a firemen squad on duty for the entire night. The footage is completely live and their task to make report on the life of these professionals, which includes their work, long waits and situations of extreme risk. On the first job of the night, the fire squad must rescue an old lady who is trapped inside her apartment for unknown reasons. But during this operation something goes terribly wrong. What seemed to be a routine procedure, unexpectedly turned into hell.

Kin-Dza-Dza

Russian language only Two Humans (Dyadya Vova and Skripach) accidentally find themselves on another planet after pushing the wrong button on the strange device in the hand of an odd looking alien. Planet "Plyuk" in the galaxy "Kin-Dza-Dza" looks like a desert. All the aliens look exactly like humans, and can understand Russian, because they can read thoughts, their language is limited to a few words, however. The whole paradox of Plyuk is that their civilization is much more advanced than ours in time and space traveling, weaponry and so on, but totally barbarian in the social way.

The food supplies are running out and they urgently need medicines and ammunitions, but in order to find them they must abandon the secure area. What lurks outside the small area inhabit, however, is so menacing thet they dare not even speak of it.

Cherez Ternii K Zvezdam (To the Stars by hard Ways)

Boldly going where no man has gone before, the starship Pushkin finds an abandoned vessel in deep space filled with the decaying bodies of humanoids. There is, however, one surviving member of the crew, a gynoid named Niya who seeks the help of earthlings to restore her now severely polluted home planet of Dessa to its natural splendor.

Mushishi (Bugmaster)

Trying to ensure their survival in a science-obsessed era, the Mushi cast their malevolent spell on humans and nature alike. The precociously white-haired Ginko has lost his youth and one eye studying the Mushi. Like a travelling doctor, he visits far away places to undo their deeds and to cure their victims. Meanwhile, in a secluded mansion, beautiful Tanyu records the history of the creatures. But one day, the ink she uses to write her tales permeates her blood vessels and all the characters disappear from her precious scrolls.

Matinee

Fifteen year-old horror fan Gene Loomis can’t wait for the arrival of filmmaker Lawrence Woolsey, who is in town to premiere his test offering of atomic power gone bersek, “Mant”. But the absurd vision of Woolsey’s tale takes on a sudden urgency as the Cuban missile crisis places the real threat of atomic horror just 90 miles off the coast.

La Planète Sauvage

Fantastic Planet tells the story of “Oms”, human-like creatures, kept as domesticated pets by an alien race of blue giants called “Draags”. The story takes place on the Draags’ planet Ygam, where we follow our narrator, an Om called Terr, from infancy to adulthood. He manages to escape enslavement from a Draag learning device used to educate the savage Oms — and begins to organise an Om revolt.

Black Sheep

Terrified of sheep and dosed up on therapy, Henry Oldfield returns to his family’s farm to sell out to this brother Angus, unaware that something bad is going on: Angus’ reckless genetic engineering program. When a pair of inept environmental activists release a mutant lamb for Angus’ laboratory onto the farm, thousands of sheep are turned into bloodthristy predators. Along with farmhand Tucker and greenie girl Experience, Henry finds himself stranded deep on the farm as his worst nightmare comes to life.

Otel U Pogibshego Alpinista (The Dead Mountaineer Hotel)

Police inspector Glabeski is called urgently to the “Dead Mountaineer Hotel” due to a series of strange events that are happening in the hotel. The hotel, is a classic mountain hotel where everything apparently, takes place in the usual way: tenants have fun, they dance, play pool, discuss current events as “space ships” and “UFOs”. At one point in the story, the inspector receives a note with the warning that a dangerous gangster is planning to assassinate one of the guests of the hotel.
